A Passion for the Planet
Cynthia Boxerman, Founder & President
Master of Environmental Science & Sustainability | Loyola University, Class of 2022
Cynthia is a former litigator who married a fellow lawyer, had several children, and found that being a full-time litigation attorney and mother was not working for her family. Unable to find permanent part-time employment as a litigator, she devoted herself to growing organic produce. One day she discovered plastic bits in the supposedly organic local compost she’d purchased; that was the day she decided to get her master’s degree in environmental science and sustainability.
Almost 30 years after finishing law school, Cynthia returned to higher education, graduating from Loyola University Chicago’s School of Environmental Sustainability in 2022. She is committed to climate and environmental justice, and intends to utilize her environmental science and sustainability knowledge, along with her advocacy skills, to help fight climate change, build resilient businesses and communities, and increase biodiversity.
